I've been getting into the mood for Halloween this week and coming up with some Halloween fun food ideas to share with you. Today I'm sharing a really easy project that I did recently with my boys - cute little ghost raisin boxes! These would be great as a healthy alternative to give out to trick or treaters, a fun food idea for Halloween parties or just a nice little edible craft project to make with the kids one rainy afternoon.
I had a little spooky fun and created a short video to demonstrate this project, it's only just over a minute long so do give it a watch! I’ve also written the instructions out in full further down this post if you’d prefer to read them. If you have any trouble loading the video, click here to watch it on YouTube, and don’t forget to subscribe to the Eats Amazing YouTube channel while you are there for lots more recipes, tutorials and fun food ideas!
I think these would be a fun snack to pop into your child's lunch box or school bag as we approach Halloween too, much more fun than a boring normal raisin box!
Ghost Raisin Boxes
Supplies needed:
- raisin boxes
- plain white paper
- pencil
- ruler
- scissors
- googly eyes
- glue
- clear tape
- black marker pen
Method:
Gather your supplies together. Lay a piece of paper on the table horizontally and using a raisin box as a guide, mark out strips across the page as wide as the length of a raisin box.
Cut up the strips, then cut each one in half.
Wrap each box in a strip of paper and stick together with clear tape.
Glue two googly eyes to the front of each paper-wrapped box. Draw a mouth on each one to finish, if wanted.
Try varying this idea with green paper and a Frankenstein monster design, orange paper with pumpkin face designs or a rainbow of colours with lots of googly eyes to make space monsters. You really could have endless fun with them!
