It seems I set a precedent with my ‘fun’ breakfast the other day. Small Child wanted chopstick toast for breakfast again today, so I dug through my cookie cutter collection to find a bit of inspiration.
This is what I came up with; toast cars with banana wheels decorated with mini chocolate ‘jazzies’. A toast man with polka dot sprinkle eyes (cue Small child: “What is that penguin doing?” hmmmm), and butterfly sprinkles flying around above. The toast had honey on it, his favourite.
Once again I chopped up the leftover toast for him to eat with his ‘chopsticks’, and put it into a silicone butterfly cupcake cup. I hope the new plastic ones arrive soon, because the disposable ones are getting a lot of use considering that they were only designed to be used once. I sliced up the rest of the banana and used a mini cutter to make the slices into flowers, with polka dot rainbow sprinkles for the middles. I probably shouldn’t use so many sprinkles in these ‘fun’ meals but they make them so pretty!
Small Child must have been having a hungry day today, because he followed that with an apple, an organic yoghurt and some pieces of a fresh coconut which we broke open yesterday.
