    Springtime Lunch

Today the sun is shining, I've flung my windows wide open and I'm celebrating the arrival of spring with a bit of spring cleaning! The sunshine is much needed and gratefully received after a long wet winter, full of floods and endless mud, and it's cheered me up immensely! To celebrate, I made this spring-filled lunch in what is fast becoming one of our favourite bento boxes - the Yumbox!

In this lunch Small Child had some shredded leftover roast beef, raw baby carrots, peeled and topped with leaf picks, organic houmous to dip them in, a sliced apple, dipped in apple juice to prevent browning and decorated with a grass shaped silicone divider, apple flavour organic mini rice cakes, decorated with colourful silicone dividers, some pretzel sticks and a cheese string.  I sprinkled the lunch with ladybird, bee and flower picks, to complete the springtime theme.

Has the weather improved where you are? I hope you're enjoying the same spring sunshine as we are!

Thanks Caren! The sunshine is so unbelievably welcome after a winter of constant rain!

This is so pretty. Every time I see a loaded yumbox I'm impressed how much it holds!

Thank you! One day I might have the energy to make mine fun too, but mostly I just do them for Small Child!

Do you know I hadn't thought how to use the leaves! You should add a photo of the products in situ with the listing - so great for inspiration xx

Right then, I need some grass dividers now! I just wish The Boy would eat raw carrot too :-/ Desperate to get one of those lunchboxes.
