What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice, and everything nice, that's what little girls are made of
What are little boys made of?
Slugs and snails, and puppy-dogs' tails, that's what little boys are made of.
Today Small Child thoroughly enjoyed learning the nursery rhyme that his lunch was based on; he seemed to relish the boys line, and seemed delighted that he was getting snails for lunch!
In his lunch box he had a homemade 'snail' bread roll, decorated with cheese eyes, with soft garlic cheese inside, some purple carrot 'flowers', some frozen peas (they should be defrosted and ready to eat by lunchtime), and a couple of cheese and marmite pastry 'snails' (recipe to follow). He had a couple of 'puppy' shaped food picks added to complete the nursery rhyme theme.
I think I'm getting better at apple carving; all it takes is a sharp knife, some acidic fruit juice for dipping and some practice it would seem!
