Can you believe we're nearly at the end of October? This month (and indeed this whole year!) has rushed by, I need time to slow down a little please! I expect you'll see a flurry of Halloween themed lunches here on the Eats Amazing blog over the next few days as I rush to get them shared before Halloween has been and gone, and today is no exception - I've got another easy spider bento to share with you!
This lunch is such a simple one, but fun to eat whatever the time of year! The spider roll takes just minutes to put together and could be served on a plate as well as in a lunch box - you could even make a whole batch of mini rolls for spooky spider Halloween party food! The vegetable legs could be varied too - try raw red pepper sticks or cucumber instead of the carrot.
In this lunch, Small Child had a bread roll filled with German sausage slices and turned into a spider by adding carrot legs and some googly eye bento picks. On the side he had sliced cucumber, red grapes and blueberries (spiders eggs!), which I decorated with spider and web cupcake rings, and some cheddar cheese, which I cut into cubes and topped with a toy spider. This lunch was packed in our blue Yumbox Panino bento box.
I also packed a matching snack of mini pretzels and raisins, which I decorated with more spider cupcake rings. The snack was packed in our purple Goodbyn Snacks container, which is perfect for holding a couple of different foods for a quick snack!
Small Child enjoyed having another spider bento! If you liked this post, you might also like the other spider themed bento I made for him this Halloween, this spooky spider energy balls recipe or this cute spider themed healthy snack idea.
