Good morning! I'm feeling very chirpy today, mainly because I found out last night that I made the finals of the MAD Blog Awards! I'm absolutely over the moon and utterly shocked to be honest, so if you are one of the lovely people who nominated Eats Amazing, then thank you, thank you so much! I'll write a more detailed post about it when I've gathered my thoughts a little more, but in the meantime you can safely say that I am very happy indeed!
Now, back to today's lunch... The lovely JeeJee of CuteZcute fame recently sent us some brilliant robot cupcake rings to try, and Small Child couldn't wait for me to use them in a lunch. They were just the right size to fit neatly in the compartments of our Yumbox which made me happy, as cupcake rings are such an easy way to make a simple lunch lots of fun!
In this lunch Small Child had a pile of whole wheat crackers, broken in half and stacked neatly in the compartment, raw baby carrots and sugar snap peas, a silicone cup filled with baked edemame beans and sunflower seeds, apple slices (dipped in orange juice to prevent browning) and some organic natural yoghurt topped with mini star sprinkles. I popped some organic houmous in the dip section for him to dip the vegetables in, and decorated the lunch with the robot cupcake rings.
This lunch went down very well with Small Child, although I was told off for putting the foods in the wrong compartments - you may remember that the Yumbox has little pictures in the bottom of each section to help you pack a balanced lunch, but although I packed something from each food group, they didn't match the pictures apparently! Must pay more attention next time...!
I'm expecting a delivery of some more exciting bento goodies from lands afar any day now, so keep your eye out for the robot cupcake rings among the many fun new bento accessories coming soon to the Eats Amazing Shop!

ooo, where do you get your edamame beans from? I live in the Back of Beyond and am struggling to get anything more than a mention of them!

Hi, I found them in M&S! They have quite a selection of interesting snack foods in their food department!
