Today I made quick and easy snowman sandwiches for my boys lunches, to cheer them up over the complete lack of snow in our area at the moment while the rest of the country seems to be blanketed in the white stuff. My youngest has never yet seen snow, so he is desperate to have some this winter, but alas it rarely snows down here near the south coast, we’d have to move north for ‘proper’ snow!
Both boys had really similar lunches today, with just a little bit extra of everything crammed into my older son’s lunch box. They both ate it all, so I guess they enjoyed their snowman lunches!
In each lunch I packed a ham sandwich on seeded bread, which I cut into a circle using a round cookie cutter and decorated with a triangle carrot slice nose, blueberries for the eyes and more blueberries for the mouth to make a snowman. I also packed some pretzel sticks, more carrot slices, cucumber slices printed with snowflakes (using a snowflake bento cutter), plum slices, raspberries and a few mini marshmallows for a treat. I added a little decoration to the fruit with the addition of a polar bear cupcake ring (snowman rings are also available in the same set, I just couldn’t find ours this morning!). The snowman lunches were packed in our Yumbox Panino divided bento boxes.
