    Pirate Lunches for International Talk Like a Pirate Day 2014

    Ahoy there mateys! On Friday just past, pirate lads and lasses everywhere were a celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day! I had been hopin' t' share some fine piratey lunches that day but being off t' London for t' MAD Blog Awards, I ran out o' time, so we be celebrating two days late on this here ship instead! Not content wi' just one pirate lunch, t' Cabin Boy had three fine pirate themed lunches in t' last week, which I be sharing wi' ye today!

    First up be a simple pirate lunch (packed in our new blue pirate Yumbox, o' course!), wi' rosemary crackers (topped wi' a jolly roger flag), cheddar cheese an' ham slices, topped wi' a scurvy pirate face ring, red pepper sticks an' cucumber fishes, blueberries, a fig (a new food for t' Cabin Boy to try) quartered an' skewered wi' cutlasses, natural yoghurt wi' a sprinkling o' starfish, an' a handful o' raisins, topped wi' a chocolate golden doubloon.

    T' second pirate lunch be packed in t' Yumbox Panino, as it be havin' more room for a special pirate sandwich!  In this lunch t' Cabin Boy be havin' a ham an' cream cheese sandwich, cut into a circle wi' our biggest circle cutter an' decorated wi' ham an' edible marker pens. On t' side he be havin' red pepper an' carrot sticks, wi' another scurvey sea dog cupcake ring, red grapes, blueberries, skewered on pirate cutlasses an' some edible pirate gold in t' form o' some dried banana chips. I also be packin' a Nom-Nom Kids pouch full o' natural yoghurt in his treasure bag.

    Last but not least, on Pirate Day itself, t' Cabin Boy be havin' another quick an' simple lunch in t' pirate Yumbox, wi' rolls o' ham (decorated wi' scurvy pirate crew face rings), sesame an' poppy seed crackers, decorated wi' a fine galleon cake decoration an' t' high sea painted on wi' food colouring, raw veggie kebabs (cucumber an' red pepper) on mini pirate skewers wi' Pretty Polly adornin' them, some raspberries, wi' a scary skull o' frozen yoghurt atop (I be usin'this mould t' shape it), an' a treasure hunt o' blueberries buried in sugar-free raspberry jelly.  I also be adding a little pirate gold in the form o' yummy dried apricots.

    T' Cabin Boy be very appreciative o' my pirate themed efforts, an' ooooed an' arrrrred a lot!
