One of the things that I'm loving since we've moved house is the great selection of supermarkets and food shops in easy reach of our new house. I love to try new things and always like to keep things interesting so it's great to have more options when I'm looking for fun food ideas to pack for Small Child's school lunches. One my recent food finds was mini croissants - I've been keeping my eye out for them for ages and was really pleased to find some, they aren't particularly healthy but they do make a nice change from bread now and again. They also make fantastic little crabs - just stick on some eye picks and you're done!
That's exactly what I did for this cute bento lunch, and gave the rest of the lunch a fun under the sea theme to match, Small Child loved this one!
In this lunch I packed two mini croissants, split, filled with ham and decorated with eye bento picks. On the side I packed raw carrot sticks, a sliced mini pepper, a couple of baby figs, a few blueberries and some pretzels. I decorated the sides with a starfish cupcake pick and some of our ocean friends bento picks. This lunch was packed in our Yumbox Panino bento box.
Are there any interesting alternatives to bread that you like to use for sandwiches?
