Yesterday I made lunch using some leftovers from our dinner the night before. I really like using leftovers in lunch boxes; I usually cook a little extra so that my husband can take some the next day, and sometimes there is even enough for Small Child too. It saves money, is quick and easy and (depending on what I’ve cooked) usually nice and healthy.
This lunch was served up in Small Child’s mini bento box, with the bottom layer containing some leftover stir-fry with noodles, decorated with mini red pepper hearts. In the top layer he had some sliced carrot with a giraffe pick, star shaped pretzels and some larger red pepper hearts with a little lion pick.
For dessert he had some yoghurt covered fruit flakes, served in a heart shaped silicone cup with a bear pick, some sliced plum and a banana with his name carved into the skin. The ends of the banana were dipped in lemon juice to prevent browning.
