How to make a fun and easy Incredibles 2 lunch box for kids with cute Jack-Jack sandwich - video tutorial and full instructions

If you're heading to the cinema to watch Incredibles 2 this summer, this themed lunch would make a great meal for before or after the film, and you could even get the kids involved in making their own - they’ll love the challenge of creating their own Incredibles inspired fruit kebabs and Jack-Jack sandwiches!

If you have any trouble loading the bento lunch tutorial video above, click here to watch it on YouTube, and don’t forget to subscribe to the Eats Amazing YouTube channel while you are there for lots more easy recipes, tutorials and fun food ideas! As well as the tutorial video above, you'll also find full instructions further down this post.

I was delighted to be asked to create this Incredibles 2 inspired bento lunch box as it was the perfect excuse to head off to the cinema to see the film with my boys. We all loved the first Incredibles film so had high hopes for the second, and we weren't disappointed! We absolutely loved the new film and can highly recommend it for a fun summer holiday activity - it's one of those brilliant films that both adults and children can enjoy so it's perfect for the whole family.

How to make a cute Incredibles 2 inspired Jack-Jack sandwich - perfect for party food or a fun kids lunch box surprise

    Incredibles 2 Bento Lunch

    Ingredients:

    For the Jack-Jack sandwich:

    • 1 round bread roll
    • 1 slice ham
    • ¼ carrot
    • 1 slice cheese
    • 1 piece nori (sushi seaweed)
    • 2 blue smarties
    • black edible marker pen or food colouring

    For the fruit kebabs:

    • 3 strawberries
    • 3 black grapes
    • 3 bite-sized pieces fresh mango

    Other ingredients:

    • ¼ red pepper
    • ¼ yellow pepper
    • 3 mini cookies

    Method:

    First create the Jack-Jack sandwich.

Split and fill a round bread roll with ham or another filling of your choice. For a really neat filling, cut the ham with a circle cookie cutter so that it doesn't stick out of the sandwich.

Peel the thin end of a carrot, then cut a slice off and split in half lengthways for Jack-Jack's hair.

Cut 4 circles from the cheese slice using mini bento cutters. I used different sizes - 2 larger circles for the ears, and 2 slightly smaller circles for the eyes.

Use clean kitchen scissors to cut an eye mask shape from the nori.

Using a small circle cutter, cut a thin crescent shape for the mouth from the ham off-cuts.

Dot black pupils onto 2 blue smarties using an edible food marker pen or black gel food colouring.

    Next, prepare the fruit kebabs.

Hull the strawberries. Thread them onto yellow, red or black plastic skewers along with the black grapes and mango pieces. Place in the lunch box.
