    Heart Themed Sandwich Lunch

Before he grows up and starts getting embarrassed by hearts etc, I like to take the opportunity to make the occasional lovey dovey lunch for Small Child whilst I can still get away with it.  He's still at the age where a lunch full of love hearts will make him feel warm and fuzzy, although I suspect that the days are numbered in that respect, as he grows ever older *sob!*.  As we are now in February and approaching Valentines day, I thought I'd share this heart filled lunch from my archives.

In this lunch Small Child had some heart shaped ham sandwiches on seeded bread, cut into various sized hearts using heart shaped cookie cutters.  On the side he had some broccoli florets and raw yellow pepper cut into heart shapes, decorated with some heart shaped food picks from the princess pick set.  He also had a mini Babybel cheese, with a heart cut from the wax to decorate, and an apple, cored, with a heart cut from the skin using a mini bento cutter and a sharp knife.  I dipped the apple in orange juice to prevent browning.

Eats Amazing - Heart themed lunch with heart shaped sandwiches - use cookie cutters to make fun shapesThis lunch went down very well with Small Child, who said it made him feel 'all happy'.  Long may these days of my cute little boy last!

If you fancy adding some extra love to your lunch, I've got a lovely little giveaway for you, just in time for Valentines Day! I've put together a fun little package, consisting of 3 little heart shaped snack pots, 6 small heart shaped silicone cups, a set of 10 rainbow heart picks and a set of cookie cutters, spelling out the word 'LOVE'.   All items are brand new and unused and will be posted free of charge to the lucky winner.

If you can't wait for the giveaway to end, I also have several heart themed goodies on special offer in the Eats Amazing Shop right now!

You're so lucky! Cute little boys often remain cute for a very long time -- my 12 year old "cute little boy" (who is now taller than I am) regularly tells me that I can't even imagine how much he loves me (when we're alone of course). We have a special "hand signal" code for "I love you" and "Too!" It's only been a year or so since he stopped prancing around the house singing "I love my mommy, she is so pretty!"
Long live cute little boys (who grow into cute grown men).

My daughter(s!) would love those little heart shaped tubs, and although we have lots of heart shaped cutters, for some reason we don't have any letters, so I'm sure they would be well used too.

I remain incredibly impressed with your lunch efforts, and although I try and make ours more inventive than they would otherwise be, I'm afraid they're still not a patch on yours!
