Small Child requested a dog themed lunch a couple of days ago, which was an easy one for me to make as I recently got some brilliant dog (and cat) food picks and was very happy to have a chance to use them! I used our Yumbox lunch box, much to Small Child's delight - he said recently that he really likes using it because he doesn't have to take lots of lids off - the clever design means that all compartments are instantly available when you open the lid. Having said that, he said on another occasion that he likes all the lidded compartments on our Laptop Lunchbox, because he likes to try to remember what is in each pot before opening it. Such is the flakiness of a 5 year old!
In this lunch Small Child had a stack of bread sticks (sticks for the dogs to chase!), slices of ham, rolled and skewered on alphabet picks spelling out 'WOOF', raw red and yellow pepper pieces, raw carrot disks cut into flowers using mini bento cutters, a kiwi fruit, peeled and sliced, and some organic strawberry yoghurt, topped with a bone, made from natural yoghurt frozen in a silicone mould.
I decorated some of the food with the new dog picks, and finished it off with a small pile of chocolate chips, which Small Child delightedly informed me in a loud whisper could be tiny dog poos! I was intending to fill that spot with houmous, but didn't realise until that moment that somebody (Mr Amazing I suspect!) had eaten it all.
I popped a mini bento spoon and fork into his lunch bag along with the Yumbox - Small Child was very pleased to see that this set had dogs on it to match the lunch!

Oh, I love the idea of the frozen yoghurt! How clever.

Thank you! I often freeze yoghurt into shapes - I love that it helps to keep the lunch cool as well as looking cute!
