I've finally managed to put my new little bundle down for long enough to get back to blogging today. If you follow Eats Amazing on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, you may have seen my announcement a few weeks ago that our baby boy arrived safe and sound at the end of June. Here he is with Small Child, who is very proud big brother:
Congratulations to all of you who guessed that I was expecting a boy, obviously you got it right!
Small Baby was born in the afternoon, and in the evening Small Child came to the hospital to meet his new brother. He was very impressed with him, but told everyone who would listen that as exciting as a new baby may be, what was much more exciting was the fact that he was going on his first school trip the next day! He needed a picnic lunch to take with him, and as I was stuck in hospital for 24 hours, Daddy stepped up to the challenge, and even made the lunch themed, to reflect the fact that Small Child was off to the farm for his school trip.
Here Small Child's farm lunch, as made by Daddy. In this lunch he had a ham filled sesame seed bagel, decorated with red pepper and carrot disks to look like a pig, with a Babybel cheese nose. On the side he had raw carrot and red pepper sticks, strawberries and red grapes, all decorated with various farm animal plastic cupcake picks.
Apparently Small Child found the bagel pig 'a little bit scary', but that didn't stop him from eating it all up anyway. Keep your eyes peeled for some more 'Daddy Lunches' coming up on the blog - I've christened him 'Mr Amazing' for his sterling lunch making efforts in the week after Small Baby was born!
