Lego Star Wars Lunch & #FunFoodFriday

Lego Star Wars Themed Food - Fun and healthy kids bento lunch from Eats Amazing UK

In today’s post I’m sharing a Lego Star Wars Lunch that I made recently, which is one of Small Child’s favourite lunches to date.  It was fun to make and I was really pleased with how it turned out too. This week has gone far to quickly, and I must admit to feeling all confused about which day of the week it is because Small Child has a day off school today (sadly no snow here, just an inset day!). I intend to thoroughly enjoy our 3 day weekend, hopefully with lots of lovely quality time with my boys. I’ve checked and assured myself that it is indeed Friday, so you know what that means – it’s #FunFoodFriday! As usual for my Friday blog posts, this post contains a linky.  If you’ve written any foodie posts, whether … Continue reading

Pacman Bento Lunch & #FunFoodFriday

Simple Pacman Themed Kids Bento Lunch - Retro Fun from Eats Amazing UK

This week has flown past, how did it get to #FunFoodFriday so quickly?! Today for my fun food I’m sharing a really simple Pacman themed lunch, this was such fun to make and the retro feel brought me straight back to childhood (my goodness, that sentence made me feel old!).  After making this lunch I then spent rather too much time playing Pacman via Google with Small Child (if the link doesn’t work try typing Pacman into Google) who loved it, though he got rather frustrated whenever he got eaten by one of the ghosties! Anyway, back to lunch, I was inspired by these cute cupcake rings, which I thought looked a bit like the ghosties in the game. As I mentioned above, today is #FunFoodFriday, and as is usual in my Friday blog … Continue reading

DIY Breakfast Sundae Recipe & #FunFoodFriday

Healthy Breakfast Sundae Recipe - Simple Idea to make breakfast extra special for all the family - easy idea for cooking with children

Today I’m sharing a simple recipe for a really fun and healthy breakfast that children (or adults!) can make themselves – a yummy DIY breakfast sundae. The components of the sundae are all ordinary foods that work well for breakfast, but as always, it’s all in the presentation, and this is definitely the prettiest breakfast I’ve had for some time! I’m hoping to share a few fresh breakfast ideas this month, in celebration of Breakfast Week, which starts on the 25th January, a campaign I am very happy to support as I agree wholeheartedly with the idea that breakfast is an absolutely vital part of the day.  You can find out more about Breakfast Week on their website and also over on their Facebook page (and while you’re there, don’t forget to follow Eats Amazing too!). Today is also … Continue reading

Monkey Themed Toddler Meal & #FunFoodFriday

Healthy Monkey Themed Fun Muffin Tin Meal Idea for a Toddler - Eats Amazing UK

It’s been a while since I’ve made a muffin tin meal, but Small Baby had this one recently and he really enjoyed it, so I’m going to start making them for him more regularly. I consider muffin tin meals to be a great introduction to bento style lunches for babies and toddlers – they make it easy to provide a good variety of healthy foods whilst keeping control over portion sizes, and they are perfect for fun meals at home.  I’ve noticed that Small Baby seems more willing to try new things and also eats a bigger selection of food when it is presented in this way, and muffin tin meals are fun for me to make too! Today is also the first #FunFoodFriday of this year, after a little break over the festive period, and as is usual in my … Continue reading

Simple Snowman Snack & #FunFoodFriday

Eats Amazing UK - Quick and simple snowman snack idea that children can design themselves - fun, healthy, snack for a Frozen olaf fan!

I’m really getting into the festive mood this week, but like most people at this time of year I’m ridiculously busy and time for creative food is limited.  I recently had a fun idea though that involved pretty much zero effort from me and has been a big hit with Small Child – a DIY Snowman snack! The first time I made it I used yoghurt, which went down very well, but then I had the idea to try the same thing at breakfast time with porridge, and that was a massive hit – Small Child has requested snowman porridge for breakfast every day since! The idea is simple – provide a bowl full of a white(ish) food such as yoghurt or porridge, add a small bowl or cup full of edible ‘snowman parts’ (that sounded slightly more dodgy than … Continue reading

Children in Need Day Lunch & #FunFoodFriday

Pudsey Superhero kids themed bento packed lunch for Children in Need Day in the Yumbox from Eats Amazing UK

Today is Children in Need Day here in the UK, an annual fundraising event which raises money to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.  Small Child’s school is joining in the fun, with a dress-up day, cake stalls and other fundraising activities.  This year the theme is ‘Be a Hero’ so Small Child went off to school as ‘Super Spider Pudsey’, also known as a spiderman suit with added cloak and Pudsey Bear ears! Of course he needed a lunch to match, so at his request I made a Pudsey Bear/Spiderman lunch! I also made some spotty cakes to send into school, which sadly I forgot to take a photo of! Today is Fun Food Friday too, so as usual, you’ll find a linky at the bottom of today’s post.  If you’ve written any foodie posts, whether it … Continue reading

Fireworks Themed Healthy Kids Bento Box to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night with an Edible Houses of Parliment from Eats Amazing UK

On Wednesday we celebrated Bonfire Night (also known as Guy Fawkes Night or Fireworks Night) and Small Child is also studying Guy Fawkes at school at the moment so he had several bonfire themed lunches this week.  I shared one, our rocket sandwich lunch earlier this week, and today I’ll share two more with you. Today is also Fun Food Friday, so as usual, you’ll find a linky at the bottom of today’s post.  If you’ve written any foodie posts, whether it be toddler meals, creative cakes, lovely lunches or a yummy recipe you’ve blogged, do feel free to join in and add your link!  Over the course of the week, I try to comment on and tweet every post that’s linked up and I pin them all to my special Fun Food Friday Pinterest board too.
